Hiking from Monterosso to Vernazza was supposed to be a “casual 1.5 hour hike” straightaway we were met by an almost vertical set of rock stairs which seemed to never end, followed by a muddy, rocky undulating path. However the view once you started walking down into Vernazza made it all worthwhile.
