The USS Akron (ZRS-4) and USS Macon (ZRS-5) were aerial aircraft carriers. They could launch, recover and hold up to 5 F9C Sparrowhawk fighter aircraft. The fighters could latch onto to the trapeze and be raised and lowered through a T-opening in the bottom of the airship.
