One oddity with the Lockheed Constellation was that its carrying capacity exceeded the mass of cargo that could be stuffed into the cargo compartments (with average suitcases) So, the "Speedpak Cargo Pod" was designed. It added 11 m³ of space where an additional 3,719 kg (8,200 lbs.) could be added.
