Yesterday, we learned that a C14 study has confirmed Vikings settled in Newfoundland 1000 years ago, and almost 500 years before Christopher Columbus arrived in America. That Norse settlement is located at L'Anse aux Meadows on the tip of Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula.
