Three weeks in Sudan, returning yesterday - Meroe was the highlight [OC]. Meroe is a huge archeological site with city ruins and several necropolis, including the famous one shown here. Many of the 2000+ year old pyramid tombs have subterranean painted chapels and carved porches above ground.
